Helping students to become active citizens in our society is a significant component of the School's mission. Civics and citizenship content regarding the rights and responsibilities of all Americans is integrated into its life-skills curriculum. The Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School also offers a citizenship course to all students. Increased community participation is encouraged through events like the Community Clean Up.
The Supportive Services Department regularly hosts other community-based organizations to come into the School in order to raise students' awareness of other community resources and activities. Additionally, a student volunteer program links the students to volunteer opportunities in and around the school.
