Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School offers eight (8) levels of English as a Second Language (ESL). The beginning level classes instruct students in basic vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading and writing. A variety of field trips and activities enhance the students' understanding and vision of their local and global environment.
The advanced ESL levels aim to bridge the gap for students ready to enter college or the workforce by providing them with the training necessary to speak, read, write and understand English in real work and life situations, while teaching students the life skills needed for employment, active citizenship, and to address personal and family needs in a new society. The spiraling curriculum connects students with concepts at multiple levels to ensure an appropriate level of mastery by the time the student graduates.
