Fall 2026 Enrollment Lottery Winners

You Were Selected! Secure Your Space Within 2 Days

Congratulations! Your name was selected in the Fall 2026 enrollment lottery. To secure your space, you must come to our school on one of the two dates below.

Where: Harvard Street Campus, 1100 Harvard Street NW, Washington, DC

When: Choose one of these dates:

  • Tuesday, August 18 | 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 19 | 1:00–7:00 p.m.

 

Please bring:

  • A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID, such as a passport or driver’s license.
  • $60 ID and materials fee, payable by cash or credit card. The fee includes your Carlos Rosario School student ID card and books.

 

Important

You must come to the school on Tuesday, August 18, or Wednesday, August 19 to secure your space.

If you do not come on one of these two dates, your space is no longer guaranteed.

Do not miss this opportunity! We have limited spaces available for applicants to enroll in our school and these spaces will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

  1. To complete your registration process, you must come on Thursday, August 20 or Friday, August 21 to finish the enrollment process.
  2. Bring an unexpired official government ID such as a passport or driver’s license (This is for identification purposes only)
  3. Bring $60 cash or credit for ID & materials fee (Includes Carlos Rosario student I.D. card and books).

Still interested in becoming a Carlos Rosario School student? Come to our Harvard Street Campus for a placement test and eventually complete your registration process.

  • Thursday, August 20 | 1–7 p.m.
  • Friday, August 21 | 9 a.m.–12 p.m.

Bring:

Eligibility and Application Process

What is the process for application?

  1. Sign up on the school Interest List
  2. A member of our team will contact you within a few weeks to complete an English placement test and confirm your class
  3. For Career Training, IC3, Small Business English, GED, and Citizenship programs, you will complete additional testing and advising sessions
  4. If there is space available in your class, and you provide proof of DC home address you will be registered

 

What is required to complete registration?

  • An official government ID
  • A document as proof of DC home address*
  • $60 cash or credit for ID & materials fee (Includes Carlos Rosario student I.D. card, laptop loaner, and books)

 

Who may enroll in classes at the school?

Who is eligible to receive our services?

“Adult education” means services or instruction below the college level for adults who:

  • Lack sufficient mastery of basic educational skills to enable them to function effectively in society; and/or
  • Have limited ability in speaking, reading, writing, or understanding the English language and whose native language is a language other than English; and/or
  • Do not have a certificate of graduation from a school providing secondary education; and/or
  • Have not completed a college degree (Associates or higher) in English from a US post-secondary institution

*There may be some classes that are open to non-DC residents. Beyond our tuition-free class offerings, the School also offers special fee-based programs that are open to students, employees and the public, such as Community Language Classes and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Workshop Series. These programs are usually held on weekends when classes are not in session. These programs do not have the same registration and enrollment requirements as tuition-free classes.

General Application Information

Fall Semester – Lottery

The Fall semester starts in September. The lottery only happens for fall semester classes. For classes where there are more applicants than spaces available, the school conducts a lottery so all new applicants have the same chance to enter into their class.

Spring Semester – First-Come First-Served

The Spring semester begins in January. During Spring Registration dates, we serve a limited number of students. Applicants receive an entry ticket when they arrive. Each day the doors close at the scheduled closing time, or when the building reaches capacity. Applicants with entry tickets are served on a First Come First Served basis. First Come First Served also means includes having the proper documents in hand.
