Allison R. Kokkoros has led Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School to national recognition as a model for adult education, adult learners services, and workforce development. Carlos Rosario School is not a conventional charter school. It is a school for adult learners, many who are navigating multiple systems simultaneously: language, employment, and family. Kokkoros‘s leadership represents the widest possible definition of what public charter education can be and do. Her voice is that of a mission-driven leader who believes education is a tool for justice, and who has built an institution that proves it.
