ALEXIS ORTIZ, GENERAL COUNSEL

Alexis Ortiz is the General Counsel for Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School. She earned a Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws in International Human Rights from Northwestern University School of Law, where she participated in the school’s human rights clinic and was the co-president of the Latino/a Law Students Association.
 
Ms. Ortiz has over a decade of experience as a legal adviser, and a deep commitment to public service and using the law as a force for good in the world. Prior to joining Carlos Rosario School, she served as an Attorney-Adviser at the U.S. Department of State, where she worked on a wide range of issues including employment law, international marine conservation treaties, and international educational programs, among many others.
 
In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, reading one of the many books she has checked out from the public library, and watching nature documentaries.
