IT Fundamentals

  • Morning Classes (Monday-Friday: 9:00–11:30am)
  • Evening Classes ( Monday-Thursday: 6:00-8:30pm)

The IT Fundamentals class is a 5-month program, 200 hours of classroom instruction along with virtual simulation and hands-on practice, prepares students to become CompTIA IT Fundamentals, entry level certification in Information Technology (IT) Students learn the fundamentals of computing networks, operating systems, hardware, security, software development and database concepts, cloud computing and virtualization. Students will also be introduced to IT professionals, a variety of employability skills, and potential IT pathways.

Most graduates pursue additional Information Technology (IT) Certifications at local IT training programs and participate in hands on IT internships. Some students are also able to earn entry level jobs such as Tier 1 Help Desk Technicians in the DC metropolitan area.

Requirements

  • Eligible for ESL 8 (high intermediate) or higher
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Passing the Computer Literacy assessment test with a 70% or higher
  • Advising session with program lead or designee
