Don’t forget! Students may play chess, checkers, dominos and other board and educational games during break, before or after class. Come to the library desk to check them out.
Weekly (Wednesday Eves, Friday AM & PM breaks)
Book discussion led by library staff. Students talk about the book they have read: summarize stories, describe characters, discuss what they like and don’t like, and share new words/phrases they learned.
Monthly (as possible)
Students, staff and/or guests share their personal and professional experiences.
Digital Storytelling (can be scheduled by teachers)
This hands on workshop shows students how to create stories using digital tools.
DCPL card application and database orientation (can be scheduled by teachers)
In this workshop classes complete the DC Public Library card online application and receive an introduction to databases for English language and Computer skills, GED, TOEFL and citizenship practice tests.
